Well at least he says it feels like forever! He qualified as a Dental Technician in 1971 in a full service laboratory and realised that his ambition was to own and run his own business. After progressing to running a large crown and bridge laboratory, Mark became conscious that his forte was working closely with dentists, so in 1982 the laboratory was set up in the back room of a dental practice.
His reputation outgrew the premises so Mark took on additional team members and moved to larger premises. The strong foundations of the business were, and still are, built solely on recommendation and reputation. Having learnt about the early forms of dental implants when he was an apprentice, Mark decided to further the business and combine his natural ability with ceramics with his technical interest and progress into the field of implantology… that was nearly 25 years ago.
Since that time Mark has attended many courses on numerous implant systems and has achieved accreditation and recognition to leading companies manufacturing and distributing implant systems. Mark is artistic and has a keen eye for colour and detail; he has attended many advanced courses in ceramics, developing his skill for producing restorations with natural aesthetics, intrinsic form and function.
He has become actively involved in demonstrating porcelain and ceramic techniques to other laboratories and dental exhibitions. The CADCAM system has become an exciting area of the industry allowing Mark and the team to expand and further the options for all dental prosthesis.
Mark is continually reviewing the fast moving technology of the profession and is excited about the future.
