Lithium disilicate glass-ceramic is an innovative material which produces highly aesthetic results and is 2.5 to 3 times stronger than other glass-ceramics. The material is either pressed in the laboratory IPS e.max® Press or milled in house IPS e.max® CAD to the desired shape.  IPS e.max® restorations can be veneered with highly aesthetic materials or fabricated to full-contour and characterised with staining materials.

All-ceramic restorations can be used to cover even dark tooth cores (e.g. if the tooth is severely discoloured, metal core or a titanium abutment is used). By conveying the colour of the core to the laboratory, our technicians will choose the IPS e.max® lithium-disilicate material with the required opacity to restore the natural aesthetic appearance of the tooth.

IPS e.max® indications for use:

  • Thin veneers of 0.3 mm 
  • Minimally invasive inlays and onlays
  • Partial crowns and full crowns
  • Three-unit bridges for the anterior and premolar region
  • Implant superstructures
